Two Hunters

This anecdotal sketch, as told by Ion Solodikov, recounts the story of two hunters who, during a tea break on the riverbank, were surprised by a bear. The bear first nudged one of them from behind with his snout, without being recognized. Apparently, he had followed them and hidden behind a tussock. Startled, the hunter jumped into the water, and the bear ran off. When the older hunter arrived, the younger one told him how frightened he had been when the bear touched him from behind with his snout – and why he was now completely soaked.
