Amulets
The Even people use amulets to ward o[ dangers or to connect with healing powers through these items. These objects are often passed down through generations by their ancestors, as in the case shown by Ljubov' Zhdanova, where small items are carefully kept in a small pouch.
Maja Lomovtseva (05:27) explains amulets that are attached to clothing and are said to provide special protection against bears. This has become necessary because bear behavior has changed recently. The main reason for this, she explains, is that newcomers do not treat nature with care and have, among other things, caused forest fires. In the past, bears were peaceful and always lived nearby.
