The reconciliation feasts of the Nymylans (coastal Koryaks) and Chavchuvens (reindeer herding Koryaks) are celebrated at specific times and occasions related to their most significant livelihoods. Thus, the O-lo-lo festival of the Nymylans serves to reconcile the people with the animal souls that were killed in the last year. In this case, these are seals and snow sheep. The Kho-lo-lo feast of the Koryaks on the east coast of Kamchatka proceeds in a similar way. On the other hand, for the Chavchuvens the fertility of the reindeer herd is particularly important. Therefore, the Kilvei festival is held at the time of the birth of young reindeer in May.
